Below is a map that you could use for whatever reason, like a field trip. There's also an embedded video, which is an excellent option if you want to flip the classroom. Bottom line is, having a blog is useful for things you want to share with students that are temporary. If you want to share permanent things, use a regular class page.
I like to share my student work. It's not plausible for all classes, but I think students get special satisfaction from seeing their work featured on my website. The images below are actual student work samples from Photoshop. You can put anything in a post that you can put on a page. This right here is text. It's easy to just put a list out of text and you're done:
